In our work with districts, the PROCESS phase is where teachers learn to shift from making content comprehensible FOR students to teaching students how to make content comprehensible for THEMSELVES.

This is where they learn to:

• Structure discourse that builds both thinking and language
• Teach comprehension strategies explicitly and release them gradually
• Check for understanding in ways that inform responsive instruction
• Balance productive struggle with appropriate support

These strategies don't replace what your teachers already do. They amplify them.
