The Three Phases: ACCESS, PROCESS, SHOWCASE

The framework organizes instruction into three interconnected phases, each with specific decision points where teachers can amplify learning:

ACCESS Phase - Making content comprehensible without watering it down
PROCESS Phase - Building students' capacity to think, discuss, and make meaning independently
SHOWCASE Phase - Creating opportunities for students to demonstrate rigorous thinking with appropriate language support

These aren't linear steps. They're lenses for thinking about instruction. Your teachers are already doing this work - the framework helps them do it more intentionally and effectively.
